| Five photos are of the downtown historic district, most of which was built in the 18th and 19th centuries; the novel and movie "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" are set in Savannah's historic area. A couple of others are from a "streetcar suburb" a few miles from downtown - I suspect built in the 20s, because it is a bit less dense than downtown but less auto-oriented than most post-World War II Southern neighborhoods. |
